I love to steal awhile away from every cumbering care...and spend the hour of setting day in humbe, grateful prayer

yeah so the weather here is crazy tonight!

it starts hailing golf ball size hail everywhere causing lots of dents in cars.  pretty soon, it looked like it had snowed.

my cousin was on the way to pick me up to eat and she had to stop on the side of the road while the hail screwed her car up pretty bad.  then there have also been numerous reports of tornadoes and that kinda stuff.

then yesterday my other cousin was out on the ranch trying to get a cow cornered that separated from the rest of them.  in the process of doing this, the cow freaked and ran into a tree (that was mostly dead) and the tree fell over onto his semi-new truck.  it's pretty messed up too.

and then i got invited to a kelly clarkson concert by my cousin and she was serious.

and now i've been told i'm gonna go play capture the flag at the park by the dude i'll be rooming with next semester...hmmm

anyways,  i'm just getting through another day.  everyone take it easy and have a good weekend!

do you ever feel immense contentness from feeling like God has forgiven you, yet again, from numerous sins, though you feel so undeserving??

that's exactly how i feel.  it's like freedom from something that weighs on your soul like a ton of bricks.  it definitely feels like a new start.  like something you wish would never go away.

the weekend definitely helped.  saturday night after work, i went over to Bro. Sonny's (a preacher at my church and my brother-in-law's dad) new house which is right across from my aunt and uncle's house where i spend most my weekends.  he and his wife were having a get-together at his house in which all of the church members were invited.  we ended up singing some church songs for about 2 hours with a break in the middle for some food and fellowship.  it was a great time.  my grandmother, who just got out of the hospital, was there looking better than ever and we were all so thankful for that.  but, in its entirety, it was a great night, and there was nothing i would have rather been doing.

Sunday morning rolled around and it was another great church service.  the singing and preaching was amazing.  i felt really moved and blessed by the sermon.   and again, i felt like i didn't want to be anywhere else but there.  and our conversations over lunch were great.  it just felt like everybody was in tune with the spirit and it felt great to talk about our experiences and how the Lord has gotten us through them all.  after lunch we went and sang at the nursing home which we do on 2nd Sundays of each month.  and it's pretty amazing to see the joy those folks get out of the gospel hymns.  many just had tears flowing and i'm sure felt the Lord's tender grace and mercy in their hearts.   He's been good to us all.

i wish i could have a weekend like that every time...

hello everybody....

it has been a good while since i've updated this thing.  maybe it's because of the depression of seeing friendly xangaites cross to the other side of outer myspace.  my heart is heavy, but i will not switch over to outer myspace.  i am simply to addicted to everything else i check every 3 minutes.  i am an slave to this computer....

so who else is tired of paying rediculous gas prices?  i wouldn't be so mad about it if the big oil execs weren't getting multi-million dollar bonuses on their checks.  so what the heck are we paying for--increased gas prices due to the upcoming summer season (which happens every year) or for some rich guy to get more money to waste on himself?

also, i'll bring up this immigration thing.  i'm sick and tired of seeing mexicans (especially those in high school) waving their flag and protesting this proposed bill.  it's one thing to protest, and it's another to protest over something that you aren't even educated about.  it's become an excuse for these kids to skip class and "protest."  they can wave their own damn flags across the river as high as they want but not here.  one kid was asked what he was protesting for, and he responded that he was,"uh, protesting against Bush."  if the idiot had a clue, he'd know that Bush is actually for giving illegal immigrants amnesty-which i don't agree with- it's too soft.  It's supporting something that is illegal to begin with.  It boils down to politics.  the republicans want, especially Bush, wants the hispanic vote in their elections.  so, they're trying to be sympathetic to illegal mexicans.  And no one, it seems, can bring up this issue and be against it (illegal immigration) without being called a racist.  it's not a matter of race, it's a matter of legality.  and the stupid slogan they use,"we're all immigrants," is used to try level the playing ground.  well yeah, we may be immigrants, but we're legal immigrants and paying taxes to fund education for your illegal kids who don't speak english.  it's a drain on taxpayers everywhere to pay for services for these folks that don't fund our government with an income tax or any other payroll taxes.  let's build a wall between our two countries with one door in it for those who want to come to our country legally.

on a more pleasant note...

i was on the way to church sunday, and while on highway 80 in dallas, i passed a man in a suit and tie carrying a bible.  he was walking on the shoulder in the hot and humid weather, and i could see no church in sight, but he was on his way no doubt.  i came really close to stopping and asking him if i could give him a lift, but i didn't, and i've been thinking about it ever since.  it makes you think about the excuses you can give yourself on a sunday morning to not make it to church.  certainly distance was no excuse for this man.  he probably walked longer than the 30 minutes i drove in my air conditioned car to go to church.  to me, that shows dedication to our Lord, and faith in Him as well.  so maybe we should think twice next time we decide not to go to church for some small, insignificant reason.  he probably had a better excuse than most for not going, but he went anyways.  we shouldn't take the gift of the sabbath day (or the freedom of religion/worship) for granted.  we should make that trip one day a week to the House of the Lord for prayer, worship, and fellowship with the saints.

have a good week everyone
