| hello everybody....
it has been a good while since i've updated this thing. maybe it's because of the depression of seeing friendly xangaites cross to the other side of outer myspace. my heart is heavy, but i will not switch over to outer myspace. i am simply to addicted to everything else i check every 3 minutes. i am an slave to this computer....
so who else is tired of paying rediculous gas prices? i wouldn't be so mad about it if the big oil execs weren't getting multi-million dollar bonuses on their checks. so what the heck are we paying for--increased gas prices due to the upcoming summer season (which happens every year) or for some rich guy to get more money to waste on himself?
also, i'll bring up this immigration thing. i'm sick and tired of seeing mexicans (especially those in high school) waving their flag and protesting this proposed bill. it's one thing to protest, and it's another to protest over something that you aren't even educated about. it's become an excuse for these kids to skip class and "protest." they can wave their own damn flags across the river as high as they want but not here. one kid was asked what he was protesting for, and he responded that he was,"uh, protesting against Bush." if the idiot had a clue, he'd know that Bush is actually for giving illegal immigrants amnesty-which i don't agree with- it's too soft. It's supporting something that is illegal to begin with. It boils down to politics. the republicans want, especially Bush, wants the hispanic vote in their elections. so, they're trying to be sympathetic to illegal mexicans. And no one, it seems, can bring up this issue and be against it (illegal immigration) without being called a racist. it's not a matter of race, it's a matter of legality. and the stupid slogan they use,"we're all immigrants," is used to try level the playing ground. well yeah, we may be immigrants, but we're legal immigrants and paying taxes to fund education for your illegal kids who don't speak english. it's a drain on taxpayers everywhere to pay for services for these folks that don't fund our government with an income tax or any other payroll taxes. let's build a wall between our two countries with one door in it for those who want to come to our country legally.
on a more pleasant note...
i was on the way to church sunday, and while on highway 80 in dallas, i passed a man in a suit and tie carrying a bible. he was walking on the shoulder in the hot and humid weather, and i could see no church in sight, but he was on his way no doubt. i came really close to stopping and asking him if i could give him a lift, but i didn't, and i've been thinking about it ever since. it makes you think about the excuses you can give yourself on a sunday morning to not make it to church. certainly distance was no excuse for this man. he probably walked longer than the 30 minutes i drove in my air conditioned car to go to church. to me, that shows dedication to our Lord, and faith in Him as well. so maybe we should think twice next time we decide not to go to church for some small, insignificant reason. he probably had a better excuse than most for not going, but he went anyways. we shouldn't take the gift of the sabbath day (or the freedom of religion/worship) for granted. we should make that trip one day a week to the House of the Lord for prayer, worship, and fellowship with the saints.
have a good week everyone |
